Cerigo

Bregal established Cerigo in October 2008, a holding company dedicated to invest in the renewable energy sector.

Cerigo targets different asset types across differing regulatory regimes with a view to maximise returns while spreading and reducing regulatory and market risks. Opportunities are located in the renewable energy and biomass sector and related areas.

In May 2010, Cerigo teamed up with land agent Savills to develop a sizeable portfolio of small scale wind projects in the UK following the introduction of the feed in tariffs in the UK and set up a new company Windberry Energy. Following a successful identification of attractive sites, Cerigo decided to increase its investment in the sub-sector and also teamed up in September 2010 with e-Gen, a Scottish experienced wind developer and in May 2011 with Empirica, an experienced wind developper based in Yorkshire to expand its portfolio of small scale wind sites.
